Medium technical severity with no CISA KEV confirmation; remediate through the normal risk-based patch cycle unless local exposure raises the priority.
These OSV and GitHub advisory ranges apply only to the named package and ecosystem. A listed fixed version is not a universal product patch or proof that an update is installed.

Mitigation availablen8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 2.37.7 and 2.38.2, the Instance AI workflow summary used node names and connection keys from stored workflows as ordinary object keys. A workflow submitted through the REST API could contain __proto__ or constructor, causing nested writes to reach Object.prototype in the main n8n process and disrupt later requests. The affected function is summarizeWorkflowStructure in packages/@n8n/instance-ai/src/tools/workflows/summarize-workflow.ts. This issue is fixed in versions 2.37.7 and 2.38.2.

The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies attributes that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control modifications of attributes of the object prototype.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-1321: Improperly Controlled Modification of Object Prototype Attributes ('Prototype Pollution'). The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies attributes that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control modifications of attributes of the object prototype.
