Evidence used
- No CISA KEV confirmation is currently recorded.
- A structured source references public exploit or proof-of-concept material.
- EPSS is 0.17% for the current model date.

Medium technical severity with public exploit material referenced by a structured source; prioritise exposed affected systems while verifying vendor guidance.
Debian, ubuntu findings are scoped to the named distribution, release and source package. An absent finding does not mean a package is unaffected.
A published vendor fix does not prove that a matching update is enabled and installable on a particular asset. Confirm the local package candidate before scheduling remediation.

Structured product status and remediation from the issuing vendor. Product-state explanations are always visible; large lists can be searched or downloaded.
The vendor explicitly states that these products are not affected by this CVE.

Fix not verifiedlibmodplug through 0.8.9.1 contains an out-of-bounds read in pat_smplooped in src/load_pat.cpp. The function validates only the upper bound of its sample index against MAXSMP and then subtracts one before indexing the 191-byte static array pat_loops, so an index of zero reads pat_loops[-1], one byte before the array. The index is the smpno field of a parsed MIDI event, which is initialised to zero and only later overwritten from a program-change parameter, so an event reaching the note test before an instrument is assigned carries zero. A 32-byte MIDI file supplied to the library's public ModPlug_Load entry point drives the path through CSoundFile::Create, CSoundFile::ReadMID, and MID_ReadPatterns to the read. The byte read out of bounds determines whether a note event is treated as looping, so adjacent static storage influences playback state.

The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
An attacker operating through local access may attempt exploitation when the stated preconditions are met. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
CISA Vulnrichment records proof-of-concept exploitation in its SSVC data. BlackTree has not independently executed or validated exploit material.
CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read. The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
