Evidence used

  • No CISA KEV confirmation is currently recorded.
  • The selected CVSS metric records a network-reachable, unauthenticated path with no user interaction.
  • EPSS is 0.46% for the current model date.

Compensating controls

  • Validate the affected product branch and deploy the verified fixed release.
  • Restrict the affected network interface to trusted sources where business-safe.
  • Monitor vendor guidance and exploitation sources for a material change.

Verification

  1. Confirm that the asset runs Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Fabric Composer and falls inside the recorded affected range.
  2. Verify the installed build against the product-specific fixed version after deployment.
  3. Validate exposure, authentication requirements and compensating controls in the actual environment.
  4. Reopen this reassessment when CVSS, KEV, EPSS, exploit evidence or remediation changes.

  • HPE Networking Fabric Composer
Summary
Vulnerabilities in an API endpoint of HPE Networking Fabric Composer could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct a denial of service attack. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to make limited unauthorized modifications to the underlying operating system and disrupt the availability of the affected system, requiring manual intervention to restore functionality.
Remediation
To resolve all the vulnerabilities in the affected software branches that are addressed through this advisory, HPE Networking strongly recommends upgrading the HPE Networking Fabric Composer software to one of the following versions (as applicable): - HPE Networking Fabric Composer 7.4.x: 7.4.0 and above - HPE Networking Fabric Composer 7.3.x: 7.3.4 and above Software versions with resolution/fixes for the vulnerabilities in this advisory can be downloaded from the HPE Networking Support Portal at https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/home/. Product software versions that have reached End of Maintenance (EoM) are presumed to be affected by the vulnerabilities unless explicitly stated otherwise, and are not covered by this security advisory. HPE Networking does not evaluate or patch software branches that have reached their End of Support (EoS) milestone.

What, why and how

Vulnerabilities in an API endpoint of HPE Networking Fabric Composer could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct a denial of service attack. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to make limited unauthorized modifications to the underlying operating system and disrupt the availability of the affected system, requiring manual intervention to restore functionality.

What

Vulnerabilities in an API endpoint of HPE Networking Fabric Composer could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct a denial of service attack. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to make limited unauthorized modifications to the underlying operating system and disrupt the availability of the affected system, requiring manual intervention to restore functionality.

Why

A security-sensitive function is reachable without the authentication check that should protect it.

How

An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation without authentication or user interaction. If successful, the issue may disrupt the affected service.

02

Exploit reality and attack path

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.

Observed exploitation
?Confirmed exploitation and public exploit material are separate signals. Attacks can occur without public proof-of-concept or exploit code.
No confirmed evidence

No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.

Public PoC / exploit material
?Confirmed exploitation and public exploit material are separate signals. Attacks can occur without public proof-of-concept or exploit code.
None recorded

No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.

CWE-306: Missing Authentication for Critical Function. The product does not perform any authentication for functionality that requires a provable user identity or consumes a significant amount of resources.
