Patch availableFreePBX is an open source IP PBX. From 17.0.1 until 17.0.7, the FreePBX Music on Hold module permits dangerous command-line options for /usr/bin/mpg123 and other allowed players in validateCustomConfiguration() in Music.class.php. An authenticated administrator can use options that write files, open control channels, or create Asterisk call files because applicationUsesDisallowedPlayerOption() does not reject those arguments, resulting in arbitrary command execution as the asterisk service user. This issue is fixed in version 17.0.7.

Untrusted input is incorporated into an operating-system command without safe parameter handling.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-78: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection'). The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component.
