Fix not verifiedLightRAG provides simple and fast retrieval-augmented generation. Prior to 1.5.4, the server defaults to CORS_ORIGINS=* combined with allow_credentials=True in lightrag/api/lightrag_server.py, causing Starlette CORSMiddleware to effectively whitelist every origin for credentialed cross-origin requests. Any malicious website visited by an authenticated LightRAG user can silently make authenticated API requests, exfiltrating documents and knowledge graph data or performing destructive actions such as deleting the document store. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.5.4.

The product uses a web-client protection mechanism such as a Content Security Policy (CSP) or cross-domain policy file, but the policy includes untrusted domains with which the web client is allowed to communicate.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation without authentication after a user interaction. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
