Medium technical severity with no CISA KEV confirmation; remediate through the normal risk-based patch cycle unless local exposure raises the priority.
Alpine, Debian, ubuntu findings are scoped to the named distribution, release and source package. An absent finding does not mean a package is unaffected.
A published vendor fix does not prove that a matching update is enabled and installable on a particular asset. Confirm the local package candidate before scheduling remediation.

Patch availabledhcpcd through 10.3.2, fixed in commit 2f00c7b, contains a one-byte stack out-of-bounds write vulnerability in dhcp6_makemessage() in src/dhcp6.c that allows unauthenticated same-link attackers to write beyond a fixed local buffer by serializing an oversized RFC6603 OPTION_PD_EXCLUDE option body. Attackers can send a crafted DHCPv6 ADVERTISE message containing an IA_PD IAPREFIX /0 with a valid OPTION_PD_EXCLUDE using an exclude prefix length of /121 through /128 to trigger the out-of-bounds write and potentially corrupt adjacent stack memory.

A bounds error lets data be written beyond the intended memory region, potentially corrupting control data.
An attacker operating through an adjacent network may attempt exploitation without authentication or user interaction. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write. The product writes data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
