Patch availablevLLM is a library for LLM inference and serving. From 0.12.0 to before 0.24.0, sending a pure prompt embeds payload in a /v1/completions request with a model using M-RoPE causes EngineCore to fail an assertion and fatally crash, shutting down the entire server application. Any remote user who is authorized to make a /v1/completions request can make such a request and induce a crash. This issue is fixed in version 0.24.0.

The product contains an assert() or similar statement that can be triggered by an attacker, which leads to an application exit or other behavior that is more severe than necessary.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may disrupt the affected service.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-617: Reachable Assertion. The product contains an assert() or similar statement that can be triggered by an attacker, which leads to an application exit or other behavior that is more severe than necessary.
