- No CISA KEV confirmation is currently recorded.
- The selected CVSS metric records a network-reachable, unauthenticated path with no user interaction.
- EPSS is 0.68% for the current model date.

Medium technical severity with no CISA KEV confirmation; remediate through the normal risk-based patch cycle unless local exposure raises the priority.
Structured product status and remediation from the issuing vendor. Product-state explanations are always visible; large lists can be searched or downloaded.
The vendor explicitly identifies these products or versions as containing the fix.

Patch availableEnvoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy's HTTP external-authorization client can retain a stale request callback after a request is rejected. When RawHttpClientImpl::onSuccess later processes the authorization response, it can invoke callbacks_ after the callback owner has been destroyed, causing a use-after-free and process crash under production traffic. The relevant scope boundary is that the vulnerable path uses the HTTP ext_authz client; the advisory does not establish the same trigger for unrelated filters. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1.

The program can continue using memory after it has been released, producing unsafe and attacker-influenceable behaviour.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation without authentication or user interaction. If successful, the issue may disrupt the affected service.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-416: Use After Free. The product reuses or references memory after it has been freed. At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation. Any operations using the original pointer are no longer valid because the memory belongs to the code that operates on the new pointer.
