Patch availableThe CustomerAdministration portal (KundenManager) of VertiGIS WebOrderSystem allows privileged users to search for employees across all defined companies (user groups). The search term can be passed in the "searchValue" URL parameter, so the search is performed when a logged-in user opens such a URL. JavaScript code placed in this parameter is executed in the victim's browser. An unauthenticated attacker who knows the URL structure can craft a link that contains script code. The code runs if a privileged user who is currently logged into the portal opens the link. Because administrative users can change the passwords of other users, including administrators, without entering the old password, an attacker may be able to take over accounts or lock out other users. Version 7.0.8.6, the latest available at the time of testing, is affected. The vendor did not provide information about further affected versions.

Attacker-controlled content can reach a browser as executable script without sufficient output encoding or sanitisation.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation when the stated preconditions are met. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting'). The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
