Medium technical severity with no CISA KEV confirmation; remediate through the normal risk-based patch cycle unless local exposure raises the priority.
Debian, ubuntu findings are scoped to the named distribution, release and source package. An absent finding does not mean a package is unaffected.
A published vendor fix does not prove that a matching update is enabled and installable on a particular asset. Confirm the local package candidate before scheduling remediation.

Fix not verifiedFastNetMon Community Edition through 1.2.9 contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the NetFlow v9 data flowset processor. In src/netflow_plugin/netflow_v9_collector.cpp, the Data template branch (lines 1695-1702) iterates over flow records without performing a per-iteration bounds check against the packet end pointer. In contrast, the Options template branch (lines 1709-1719) correctly checks 'if (pkt + offset + field_template->total_length > packet_end)' before each iteration. The Data branch omits this check entirely. Since template definitions are sent by the network peer (and are unauthenticated UDP), an attacker can craft templates that cause the parser to read arbitrary memory past the packet buffer. This can leak sensitive memory contents or cause a crash.

The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may obtain information outside the intended access boundary.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read. The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
