Patch availableSpatie Laravel Media Library before version 11.23.0 contains a file upload restriction bypass in FileAdder::defaultSanitizer(). The sanitizer checks only the final filename suffix, allowing double-extension filenames such as shell.php.jpg to bypass the blocklist, with pathinfo() preserving inner .php stems in saved filenames. The blocklist also omits executable extensions including .php6, .shtml, and .htaccess. The double-extension bypass requires a legacy Apache AddHandler configuration to achieve PHP execution; the incomplete blocklist bypass does not.

The product implements a protection mechanism that relies on a list of inputs (or properties of inputs) that are not allowed by policy or otherwise require other action to neutralize before additional processing takes place, but the list is incomplete.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
