Medium technical severity with no CISA KEV confirmation; remediate through the normal risk-based patch cycle unless local exposure raises the priority.
These OSV and GitHub advisory ranges apply only to the named package and ecosystem. A listed fixed version is not a universal product patch or proof that an update is installed.

Patch availableIPAM is the IP address Manager for Cluster API Provider Metal3. Prior to versions 1.11.7, 1.12.4, and 1.13.0, the IPAM controller's ClusterRole granted full CRUD permissions (create, delete, get, list, patch, update, watch) on core/v1 Secrets. The controller never accesses Secrets during normal operation. If the controller pod were compromised (e.g. via supply chain attack or container escape), an attacker could leverage these excessive permissions to read, modify, or delete Secrets in the namespace, potentially exposing credentials and other sensitive data. This issue has been patched in versions 1.11.7, 1.12.4, and 1.13.0.

The product performs an operation at a privilege level that is higher than the minimum level required, which creates new weaknesses or amplifies the consequences of other weaknesses.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with elevated privileges. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-250: Execution with Unnecessary Privileges. The product performs an operation at a privilege level that is higher than the minimum level required, which creates new weaknesses or amplifies the consequences of other weaknesses.
