Fix not verified@pensar/apex <= 0.0.58 is vulnerable to OS command injection via the smart_enumerate tool. The createSmartEnumerateTool() function in src/core/agent/tools.ts constructs a shell command by concatenating unsanitized values from the extensions array and url parameter into a string passed to Node.js child_process.exec(). Because exec() spawns a shell, shell metacharacters in those values are interpreted by the host shell, resulting in arbitrary OS command execution with the privileges of the running process. NOTE: this is disputed by the Supplier because the report is about intended behavior, as explained in the Security Policy of the pensarai/apex GitHub repo.

Untrusted input is incorporated into an operating-system command without safe parameter handling.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation without authentication after a user interaction. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-78: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection'). The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component.
