Fix not verifiedInvenTree is an Open Source Inventory Management System. Prior to 1.2.7 and 1.3.0, any users who have staff access permissions can install plugins via the API, without requiring "superuser" account access. This level of permission requirement is out of alignment with other plugin actions (such as uninstalling) which do require superuser access. The vulnerability allows staff users (who may be considered to have a lower level of trust than a superuser account) to install arbitrary (and potentially harmful) plugins. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.2.7 and 1.3.0.

The product does not perform or incorrectly performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with elevated privileges. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
