Patch availableMantis Bug Tracker (MantisBT) is an open source issue tracker. Versions 2.28.1 and prior contain a Stored XSS vulnerability. When cloning an issue originating from a Project other than the current one, the clone form (bug_report_page.php) prepends the source Project name before the category selector without proper escaping, allowing an attacker able to to inject HTML if they can set the Project's name (which typically requires manager or administrator access level). This issue has been resolved in version 2.28.2.

Attacker-controlled content can reach a browser as executable script without sufficient output encoding or sanitisation.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with elevated privileges. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
