Patch availableWeblate is a web based localization tool. In versions prior to 5.17, the project backup didn't filter Git and Mercurial configuration files which could lead to remote code execution under certain circumstances. This issue has been fixed in version 5.17. If developers are unable to update immediately, they can limit the scope of the vulnerability by restricting access to the project backup, as it is only accessible to users who can create projects.

The product uses external input to construct a pathname that should be within a restricted directory, but it does not properly neutralize sequences such as .. that can resolve to a location that is outside of that directory.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with elevated privileges. If successful, the issue may execute code or commands in the affected security context.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-23: Relative Path Traversal. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that should be within a restricted directory, but it does not properly neutralize sequences such as .. that can resolve to a location that is outside of that directory.
