Medium technical severity with no CISA KEV confirmation; remediate through the normal risk-based patch cycle unless local exposure raises the priority.

Patch availableParse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to versions 8.6.51 and 9.6.0-alpha.40, the Pages route and legacy PublicAPI route for resending email verification links return distinguishable responses depending on whether the provided username exists and has an unverified email. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to enumerate valid usernames by observing different redirect targets. The existing emailVerifySuccessOnInvalidEmail configuration option, which is enabled by default and protects the API route against this, did not apply to these routes. This issue has been patched in versions 8.6.51 and 9.6.0-alpha.40.

The product provides different responses to incoming requests in a way that reveals internal state information to an unauthorized actor outside of the intended control sphere.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation without authentication or user interaction. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-204: Observable Response Discrepancy. The product provides different responses to incoming requests in a way that reveals internal state information to an unauthorized actor outside of the intended control sphere.
