Mitigation availableOPNsense is a FreeBSD based firewall and routing platform. Prior to 26.1.4, multiple OPNsense MVC API endpoints perform state‑changing operations but are accessible via HTTP GET requests without CSRF protection. The framework CSRF validation in ApiControllerBase only applies to POST/PUT/DELETE methods, allowing authenticated GET requests to bypass CSRF verification. As a result, a malicious website can trigger privileged backend actions when visited by an authenticated user, causing unintended service reloads and configuration changes through configd. This results in an authenticated Cross‑Site Request Forgery vulnerability allowing unauthorized system state changes. This vulnerability is fixed in 26.1.4.

The application accepts a state-changing browser request without a reliable anti-forgery check.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
A structured CVE source labels at least one public reference as exploit material. BlackTree has not independently validated that it is safe, reliable or weaponised.
CWE-352: Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
