Medium technical severity with no CISA KEV confirmation; remediate through the normal risk-based patch cycle unless local exposure raises the priority.

Fix not verifiedOctober is a Content Management System (CMS) and web platform. Versions prior to 3.7.14 and 4.1.10 contain a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Backend Editor Settings. The Markup Classes fields (used for paragraph styles, inline styles, table styles, etc.) did not sanitize input to valid CSS class name characters. Malicious values were rendered unsanitized in Froala editor dropdown menus, allowing JavaScript execution when any user opened a RichEditor. Exploitation could lead to privilege escalation if a superuser opens any RichEditor during routine content editing (e.g., editing a blog post), and requires authenticated backend access with editor settings permissions. This issue has been fixed in versions 3.7.14 and 4.1.10. To workaround this issue, restrict editor settings permissions to fully trusted administrators only

Attacker-controlled content can reach a browser as executable script without sufficient output encoding or sanitisation.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may gain additional privileges.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting'). The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
