Patch availableEventSentry versions prior to 6.0.1.20 contain an unverified password change vulnerability in the account management functionality of the Web Reports interface. The password change mechanism does not require validation of the current password before allowing a new password to be set. An attacker who gains temporary access to an authenticated user session can change the account password without knowledge of the original credentials. This enables persistent account takeover and, if administrative accounts are affected, may result in privilege escalation.

When setting a new password for a user, the product does not require knowledge of the original password, or using another form of authentication.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may gain additional privileges.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
