Fix not verifiedThe SSL Zen plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 'uri' (and 'host') parameters in versions up to, and including, 4.7.42. The ssl_zen_messages::getMessages() function builds the 'token_missmatch' message using base64_decode(sanitize_text_field($_REQUEST['uri'])) and (optionally) base64_decode(sanitize_text_field($_REQUEST['host'])). sanitize_text_field() cannot strip HTML/JavaScript that is hidden inside a base64-encoded blob, and the resulting decoded raw HTML is echoed unescaped by showMessage() . This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a specially crafted link.

Attacker-controlled content can reach a browser as executable script without sufficient output encoding or sanitisation.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation without authentication after a user interaction. If successful, the issue may cause the confidentiality, integrity or availability impact described by the vendor.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting'). The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
