Fix not verifiedThe Easy Digital Downloads plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Upload in versions up to and including 3.6.9. This is due to insufficient file type validation in the edd_do_ajax_import_file_upload() function , which only checks the client-supplied $_FILES['edd-import-file']['type'] Content-Type header against an allow-list of CSV mime types, then uses raw move_uploaded_file() (bypassing wp_handle_upload()'s core MIME enforcement) to write the file under its original extension into the web-accessible wp-content/uploads/edd/exports/ directory. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Shop Manager-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.

The upload path does not sufficiently restrict the type, name, location or later execution of attacker-supplied files.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with elevated privileges. If successful, the issue may execute code or commands in the affected security context.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-434: Unrestricted Upload of File with Dangerous Type. The product allows the upload or transfer of dangerous file types that are automatically processed within its environment.
