Fix not verifiedA path traversal vulnerability exists in the Altium Enterprise Server Vault Service UploadController due to improper validation of a user-controlled path component in image upload requests. An authenticated user can supply a crafted absolute path so that the configured storage root is discarded, allowing arbitrary files to be written to any location on the server filesystem writable by the service account. Because content-controlled files can be written to web-accessible directories, or used to overwrite application binaries or configuration files, this can be escalated to remote code execution, service takeover, or denial of service. Altium 365 cloud deployments are not affected, as the affected endpoint is not reachable and the cloud storage architecture mitigates the file-write primitive.

Attacker-controlled path data is not constrained to the intended directory before the application accesses a file.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with low privileges. If successful, the issue may execute code or commands in the affected security context.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal'). The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory.
