Critical technical severity; prioritise exposed affected systems while verifying vendor guidance.
Debian findings are scoped to the named distribution, release and source package. An absent finding does not mean a package is unaffected.
A published vendor fix does not prove that a matching update is enabled and installable on a particular asset. Confirm the local package candidate before scheduling remediation.

Fix not verifiedAn authenticated remote code execution vulnerability exists in Piwik (now Matomo) versions prior to 3.0.3 via the plugin upload mechanism. In vulnerable versions, an authenticated user with Superuser privileges can upload and activate a malicious plugin (ZIP archive), leading to arbitrary PHP code execution on the underlying system. Starting with version 3.0.3, plugin upload functionality is disabled by default unless explicitly enabled in the configuration file.

The upload path does not sufficiently restrict the type, name, location or later execution of attacker-supplied files.
An attacker operating through a network path may attempt exploitation with elevated privileges. If successful, the issue may execute code or commands in the affected security context.

CVSS severity, EPSS forecast probability, public exploit material and CISA-confirmed exploitation are separate signals.
No CISA KEV match was present at the last successful refresh. This means no confirmation from that source, not proof of no exploitation.
No exploit-tagged reference or CISA SSVC proof-of-concept state is currently recorded. Research may still exist outside the structured feeds.
